We’d like to give an official Evermoore congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Joshua & Erin Marquez! This was a wedding we won’t forget – full of fun surprises all throughout the day. The day began with Erin and her girls prepping hair and make-up, enjoying each other’s company and anticipating the special day! So much was planned and the day was finally here! Meanwhile, at a separate location, Joshua and his men gathered around for one last hour with the bachelor before he entered into marriage forever. Gifts were flying and tears were rolling, but everyone was excited and happy!

It wasn’t long before everyone arrived at San Clemente Mission and met eager guests ready to join them for the day. Father Chumar traveled in to perform the ceremony at San Clemente Mission of Bakersfield, and was especially excited to announce the final kiss – a favorite scene in their movie above! We were sure to have the camera on Joshua’s face when Erin walked down the aisle with her daddy – gotta love seeing a teary-eyed groom!

But before we knew it the ceremony was completed and family pictures had begun. After a few shots around the mission, the bridal party headed downtown to the famous Bakersfield wedding landmark – the Padre Hotel. We grabbed some fun romantic shots of the newlyweds alongside their friend and photographer, Cindy, and hopped back in the car. Final destination: JEH Ranch.

The party had already started with a favorite mariachi group filling up the sweet October air. We waved to Debbie from Sweet Surrender after she dropped off a gorgeous tiered cake for the cake smash–I mean, the cake cutting ceremony. JEH Ranch was beautifully decorated with rustic flower centerpieces and h’ordeurve tables decked with festive table cloths provided by the venue. Today was an extra special day, and the mariachi was sure to let everyone know, as they played “Happy Birthday” for Joshua’s mother.

But the party wasn’t over yet! JEH Ranch provided a delicious meal that kept everyone going far into the night. Traditional father-daughter dance and mother-son dances were in the line-up, but THEN a Hispanic tradition surprised the guests with a Broom-and-Belt Dance! The groom was given a broom and had to clear off the rose petals from the dance floor while the bride chased him with a belt – what was a fun sight to see! More dancing, of course heart-felt toasts, and the long-anticipated day was over. Although the wedding is gone, Joshua and Erin can remember and relive those moments as if they were yesterday – they’re glad they got a wedding video. As Erin emailed us, “It looks awesome!”
