Timing is Key | Wedding Speech Tip #47 | Evermoore Films

The Bride and Groom have honored you by asking you to give a speech at their wedding reception. Congratulations! Now the planning begins! Be sure you plan out the length of your speech. On the day of the wedding, be aware of the immediate events. Are things running behind? Would everyone appreciate it if you keep it short and sweet? Or are you last and everyone else just said “Congrats” and sat down? Feel free to adjust your speech as needed depending on the timing of the day. A word of advice, however, is to remember this is a once-in-a-lifetime event and more is usually better for memories sake. Remember: your friends want to hear what you have to say, whether it be a little or much. Just like the speeches at Greg and Hillary’s wedding reception, your speech can be one among many (or few) of memorable wedding speeches. Happy writing!
